During my Graphic Arts MA, we were asked to create A2 manifestos summarising our approach to design. With such an open brief, it was tricky to narrow it down and to group my thoughts. I decided to bring my thoughts together under the (slightly arbitrary!) rule that each point had to relate to a verb beginning with S.
This allowed me to bring together otherwise-disparate themes and ideas. I'm not totally happy with the finished product, and I may revisit it at some point, but it was a useful exercise. I used black and yellow as an attention-grabbing colour scheme in reference to the 'underground' or subversive history of manifestos, and the fact that the idea is that they are mass-produced for cheap and draw people in in as little time as possible.
